Rigging Pins are largely (in shorter lengths) a less costly alternative to
Clevis Pins,
commonly used in covered applications such as Masthead
Sheave Axle
Pins.
Primary modern usage is as Clevis
Pins, but in applications
where longer individualized lengths are impractical, and in those rare applications
where the Pin should be
removable from either side.
Rigging Pins are measured by Diameter and Grip Length, a given
Diameter is available in a variety of Grip lengths.
Grip Length is the maximum length between 2
installed
Cotter Pins. While a longer
than ideal length may be used in some
applications, proper sizing keeps dangerous protrusions and weight to a minimum.
Listed below are commonly stocked Rigging Pins, normally secured with
Cotter Pins (Split Pins).
Part numbers are as Clevis Pins (diameter in 1/16's, lengths in
1/32's), meaning that a
RP8-64 can be substituted for a CP8-64 (and vise versa).
If you require a Rigging Pin not listed here, please contact us
specifying dimensions
(Diameter & Grip Length), material (Stainless Steel, Bronze, Titanium, etc.), and
application. If
not in stock, we produce many Custom Rigging Pins and can quote them on a Custom
basis.
