Clevis Pins are primarily used to attach Turnbuckles and Rigging to Deck and to
Mast, but are also used in a wide
variety of other Rigging applications including Gooseneck, Spreader and Sail
attachment, and as Sheave Axles.
Clevis Pin diameter is equal to the size of the hole it is used in.
Clevis Pins are held in place with Cotter
Pins (British: Split Pins).
Clevis Pins are measured by Diameter and Grip Length, a given Diameter is
available in a variety of Grip lengths.
Grip Length is the length
between the underside of the Head and an installed
Cotter Pin. While a longer than ideal length
may be used in some applications,
proper sizing keeps dangerous protrusions and weight to a minimum.
Rig-Rite stocks a large variety of Stainless Steel Clevis Pins - most are
listed below,
as are some Titanium other specialized Pins.
If you require a Clevis Pin not listed here, please contact us
specifying dimensions
(OD and Grip Length), material (Stainless Steel, Bronze, Titanium, etc.), and
application. If
unavailable otherwise, we produce many 'specials' and can quote them on a Custom
basis.
