4 1/2" OD Spinnaker Pole End Fittings Pole End Fittings are divided into several categories, listed below. Standard End Fittings are suitable for use on the Outboard end of the Pole, and on the Inboard end when a Ring Car (or a fixed Mast Ring) is used on the Mast. Their use on both ends is required when using an End for End jibing procedure. See also: Spinnaker Cars. Special Inboard and Outboard Ends require the use of a Dip Pole jibing method and more specific Mast attachments, these categories include more specialized fittings such as Reaching Strut Ends. -- See also: Spinnaker Cars. Tube Adapters allow the use of a larger
diameter tube with end fittings designed
for a smaller one.

Aluminum Trigger End for 4 1/2" OD Tube: EF-450-ATRX: Cast aluminum Trigger End incorporates eyes for attachment of pole lift bridle and foreguy, Piston has hole for attachment of an externally mounted Trip wire, allowing for operation while at the fitting. Trigger End is like a piston end, except that when the plunger is manually retracted it locks in the open position, waiting for pressure on the Trigger (from a ring, car or guy) to cause it to snap shut. Gray anodized fitting (w/ adapter) projects 9 1/4" (maximum) from tube end. F

(7/8" diameter) bayonet pin. Automatic latch is released by pulling SS Spring Pin.

Forespar 'Ultra' composite GPS Trigger End incorporates Spectra loops for attachment of pole
lift and foreguy, formed SS liners to minimize chafe on the Guy, and includes an internal
Spectra Trip lanyard.

Sparcraft Stainless Steel Intrepid II Outboard End incorporates SS
investment cast Trigger Assembly integrated into lightweight cast Aluminum body.
Originally developed for the 12-meter Intrepid, this simple and efficient unit is
still the
standard Pole End for IACC yachts and others from 50' up to maxi yachts. State-of-the-art Trigger
End includes provisions for an internal Trip lanyard.
SS end features integral eye for attachment of foreguy, pole lift attachment eye is cast into
Aluminum body.
Intrepid II Outboard Trigger End (w/ Aluminum adapter) projects 7 1/2" (maximum) from tube
end when closed.

End Fitting Adapters Adapting Collars allow End Fittings to be used with larger diameter tube. This sometimes results in a net weight savings, and often allows for configurations otherwise unavailable. Please Note that adapting collars can be used together, but have ID's designed for End Fittings and can not be used for sleeving two sizes of tubing together. As always, special sizes are available on a Custom basis. |
