Wide Sheaves - By Width

Sheaves are used to allow a line or wire to make a directional change of up to 180 degrees, without chafe and with a minimum of friction. Sheaves turn on Axles, and may have Bushings installed in them to reduce working friction, or to reduce their Inside Diameter (ID). Wide Sheaves are those where the Width is close to, or exceeds the Diameter (OD) of the Sheave. Primary usage of Wide Sheaves is found in Genoa Sheet Cars and in Anchor Rollers, with few Spar Applications.

Wide Sheaves are listed here by Width (thickness), then Outside (Maximum) Diameter (OD), and Inside Diameter (Bore) in ascending order.

Rig-Rite stocks a variety of Wide Sheaves and most are listed below, but many other sizes have been produced over time. Please note that if a Sheave listed here meets your principal dimensions of Outside Diameter (OD) & Width, it is frequently possible to modify the Inside Diameter (ID) by either drilling it out to a larger size, or bushing it down to a smaller one. If a Sheave you require is not listed, please contact us specifying dimensions (OD, width, and ID), material (aluminum, plastic, etc.), and application.

1" Wide Delrin Sheave - 1" OD, 1/4" ID: PP-S4D16-4:
Turned Black Delrin Sheave is 1" OD x 1" wide x 1/4" ID. As used on a variety of stanchion mount furling line blocks, and in other applications. With Rope Groove for up to 3/4" line.

1 7/16" Wide Aluminum Sheave: Mer 7110-AS:
Black Anodized Aluminum Sheave is 1 5/8" OD x 1 7/16" wide x 1/2" ID. As used on Merriman Twin-sheet Genoa Lead Cars for 1" T-Track. Complete Replacement Sheave Assembly for those Cars is listed below.

1 5/8" Wide Delrin Sheave: SAR6.5D13-6:
Black Delrin sheave is 1 3/4" OD x 1 5/8" (1.585") wide x 3/8" ID. Wide turned sheave has shallow groove for use with a variety of anchor rollers.

1 5/8" Wide Rubber Sheave: SAR6.5R13-B8:
Black Rubber sheave is 2 1/2" OD x 1 5/8" (1.585") wide x 1/2" ID. Wide neoprene sheave has deep groove and integral brass bushing for use with a variety of anchor rollers. 59

Anodized Aluminum sheave is 2 5/8" OD x 1 7/8" wide x 1/2" ID. Special Wide sheave has double groove for use with Rope and Chain up to 1/2". As used on a variety of C&C Yachts Anchor Rollers.

1 7/8" Wide Delrin Sheave: SK-SW11D30-20mm:
Grey molded plastic Sheave is 2 3/4" (70mm) OD x 1 7/8" wide (47mm) x 20mm (>3/4" ID). As used on Lewmar Twin-sheet Genoa Lead Cars for 1 1/4" and 32mm T-Track.

2" Wide Aluminum Sheave: SK-SW9A32-B10:
Anodized Aluminum sheave is 2 1/4" OD x 2" wide x 5/8" ID. Wide Black sheave features special Nomex-Teflon Bushings to minimize friction. As used on Schaefer Twin-sheet Genoa Lead Cars, and in other applications.

2 1/4" Wide Nylon Sheave: SAR9.2N36-8:
Wide Nylon sheave is 2 3/8" OD x 2 1/4" wide x 1/2" ID. Wide molded sheave has shallow groove for use with a variety of anchor rollers.

2 1/4" Wide Bronze Sheave: SAR9.2B36-8:
