Z-SPAR  Masthead Rig Mastheads

Z-Spar uses cast aluminum mastheads with virtually all of their Mast Sections. Masthead rigged Masts, both tapered and untapered, utilize drop-in style mastheads that fit into a slot cut in the fore and aft sides of the Mast tube. Most Mastheads for Masthead Rigs are listed below. To inquire about a Masthead not listed below, please specify the Mast Section, and whether or not the Mast is tapered.

Masthead for Z170, Z190, & Z230 Mast Sections: Z-1001XA:
Cast aluminum Masthead for Z170, Z190, & Z230 sections features sockets for Headstay and Backstay Stemballs. Masthead uses (2) 35mm halyard sheaves (Z-1617) on 8mm knurled axles (Z-1273). Unit is 9 1/4" long overall, and fastens to mast section with (2) 8mm L-bolts.

 

  

 
Masthead for Z Mast Sections: Z-1003A:
Cast aluminum Masthead for Z sections features sockets for Headstay and Backstay Stemballs. Masthead uses (4) 45mm halyard sheaves (Z-1616) on 8mm knurled axles (Z-1272X). Unit is 11 3/4" long (without Spinnaker Bail), and fastens to mast section with (2) 8mm L-bolts.

Masthead for Z265, Z301, & Z351 Mast Sections: Z-1007M:
Cast aluminum Masthead for Z265, Z301, & Z351 sections features sockets for Headstay and Backstay Stemballs, and allows for attachment of both Upper shrouds Eyes with a single Pin (8 or 10mm, please specify) which seats in the casting (fore & aft). Masthead uses (4) 45mm halyard sheaves (Z-1616) on 8mm Drop-in axles (Z-1329), and a top Cover Plate to cover halyards and sheaves. Unit is 11 1/2" long (without Spinnaker Bail) x (maximum) 4 1/8" wide, includes holes for 8mm Spinnaker Bail (Z-MHB-8A), and fastens to mast section with (2) 8mm L-bolts (Z-MHL-8A).

 

  

 

 

 Cover Plate for Z265, Z301, & Z351 Mastheads: Z-1147:
Cast aluminum Masthead Cover Plate covers and protects sheaves, halyards and Upper shroud connections. Casting is 7 7/8" long x 4 3/16" wide and fastens to top of Masthead using the Masthead attachment L-bolts on 2 7/8" centers. Used on a variety of Mastheads for Z265, Z301, & Z351 Mast Sections.

Sheave used in Z-1007A Masthead is 45mm (1 3/4") x 13mm wide x 8mm ID.

 

  
  Sheave Axle for Masthead: Z-1329:
SS Sheave Axle Pin is 8mm x 39mm long and is used in a variety of Mastheads for Z265 - Z351 Standard and Furling Mast Sections.

 

  
  Shroud Pin for Masthead - 8mm: Z-1329:
Shroud Pin for Masthead - 10mm: Z-1330-10:
SS Pin is used to seat Eyes for Upper Shrouds in a variety of Mastheads for Z400 - Z601 Standard and Furling Mast Sections. Upper Shroud Pin (1 required) is 8 or 10mm x 39mm long.

 

  

 

 L-Bolt Ass'y - 8mm for Z170 - Z351 Mastheads: Z-MHL-8A:
SS L-Bolts used to attach the Masthead to the Mast on a variety of Mastheads for Z170, Z230, Z260, Z265, Z300E, Z301, Z351 and other Mast Sections. SS L-Bolt (2 required) is 8mm diameter and includes SS Locknut.

 

 

 8mm Integral Masthead Spinnaker Bail: Z-MHB-8A:
Angled (port or starboard) SS Masthead Spinnaker Bail for Z-Spar Cast aluminum Mastheads. Angled SS 8mm (5/16") diameter Bail is 108mm (4 1/4") long, and has milled recesses for attachment with two (2) pins or rivets. Suitable only for use with Z-Spar Cast Mastheads with holes for an 8mm Spinnaker Bail on 48mm centers.

 
Masthead for Z400 - Z601 Mast Sections: Z-1005A:
Cast aluminum Masthead for mid-range (Z400 - Z601) Standard Mast Sections, features sockets for Headstay and Backstay Stemballs, and allows for attachment of both Upper shroud Eyes with a single Pin (10, 12, or 14mm, please specify) which seats in the casting (fore & aft). Masthead uses (4) 60mm halyard sheaves (Z-1618) on 8mm Drop-in axles (Z-1277), and a top Cover Plate, Z-1148, to cover halyards and sheaves. Casting is 15 3/8" long (14 3/8" on top) x (maximum) 5 1/2" wide, includes holes for 10mm Spinnaker Bail, Z-MHB-10, and fastens to mast section with (2) 10mm L-bolts. Cast aluminum Masthead is commonly used on Z400, Z401, Z500, Z501, Z531, Z600, & Z601 Standard Mast Sections. #1005/1026

Cast aluminum Masthead Cover Plate covers and protects sheaves, halyards and Upper shroud connections. Casting is 10 3/16" long x 5" wide and fastens to top of Masthead using the Masthead attachment L-bolts. Used on a variety of Mastheads for Z400 - Z900 Standard Mast Sections.

Sheave used in Z-1005A Masthead is 60mm (2 3/8") x 16mm wide x 8mm ID.

SS Sheave Axle Pin is 8mm x 48mm long and is used in a variety of Mastheads for Z400 - Z601 Standard and Furling Mast Sections.

SS Pin is used to seat Eyes for Upper Shrouds in a variety of Mastheads for Z400 - Z601 Standard and Furling Mast Sections. Upper Shroud Pin (1 required) is 10 or 12mm x 57mm long.

 10mm Integral Masthead Spinnaker Bail: Z-MHB-10:
Flat U-shaped SS Masthead Spinnaker Bail for Z-Spar Cast aluminum Mastheads. SS 10mm (3/8") diameter U-shaped Bail is 102mm (4") long, and has drilled holes for attachment with two (2) 5mm pins or rivets. Suitable only for use with Z-Spar Cast Mastheads with holes for a 10mm Spinnaker Bail on 50mm centers.

 
Masthead for Z400E, Z500E, & Z600E Furling Mast Sections: Z-1005AE:
Cast aluminum Masthead for mid-range (Z400 - Z601) Furling Mast Sections, features sockets for Headstay and Backstay Stemballs, and allows for attachment of both Upper shroud Eyes with a single Pin (10, 12, or 14mm, please specify) which seats in the casting (fore & aft). Masthead uses (4) 60mm halyard sheaves (Z-1618) on 8mm Drop-in axles (Z-1277-8), and a top Furling Mast Cover Plate, Z-1149, which incorporates sheaves and axles required for Furling Masts. Casting is 15 3/8" long (14 3/8" on top), includes holes for 10mm Spinnaker Bail, Z-MHB-10, and fastens to mast section with (2) 10mm L-bolts. Cast aluminum Masthead is commonly used on Z400E, Z500E, & Z600E Furling Mast Sections.

 

  

 

 Cover Plate for Furling Masthead: Z-1149:
Cast aluminum Masthead Cover Plate covers and protects sheaves, halyards and Upper shroud connections, and incorporates provisions for (4) extra sheaves required on Furling Masts. Casting is 10 3/16" long x 5" wide and fastens to top of Masthead using the Masthead attachment L-bolts. Sheaves, axles, and L-bolts are available separately, below. Used on Z400E, Z500E, & Z600E Furling Mast Sections.

 

  

 
  Sheave for Furling Masthead Cover Plate: Z-1617:
Sheave used in Furling Masthead Cover Plate is 35mm (1 3/8") x 15mm wide x 8mm ID.

 

  
  Sheave Axle for Masthead: Z-1277-8:
SS Sheave Axle Pin is 8mm x 48mm long and is used in both the Masthead and the Furling Cover Plate on Z400E, Z500E, & Z600E Furling Mast Sections.
