| Spinnaker Halyard Swivel Blocks |
|
Spinnaker Halyard, or Swivel Blocks are attached to a Spinnaker Bail, or other attachment point,
and used to hoist the Spinnaker Halyard. A Spinnaker Bail or Crane, on Masthead Rigs, is usually
attached to,
and projects forward of the Masthead (above the Headstay) allowing the Spinnaker to be tacked in
front of the Headstay.
These Blocks are also used for Pole Lifts, Topping Lifts and for Spinnaker Halyards on Fractional
Rigs. Swivel Blocks in this application should be oversized as the Spinnaker Halyard is subjected to some of the highest loads on board. Although most heavy-duty swivel blocks will work, we offer here a selection of blocks, chosen for their ruggedness and longevity.
