Isomat NG2 Isovang

The NG2 Isovang is a spring-loaded solid Vang designed for larger boats, generally longer than 30' (9m), and attaches to a Mast-mounted Vang Toggle and to the Boom Vang Attachment Lug with a 22mm (7/8") pin (included). Isovangs include pins and line, Mast and Boom attachment fittings are specific to particular Mast and Boom Sections and must be ordered separately. NG2 Isovangs have an 8 1/4" stroke length, end fittings are designed to fit over 1/4" (6mm) wide attachment tabs. Vang should be installed at its shortest (uncompressed) length with the boom in its lowest normal sailing position.

NG2 Isovangs The NG2 Isovang is available in 3 standard lengths, other lengths have been produced as specials. To get a duplicate of a non-standard length Isovang, specify existing Outer tube length. *NG2 Isovang – Short: NGV2-S:* The standard Short NG2 Isovang measures 5' 1" long (minimum-fully compressed) and 5' 9" long uncompressed. Complete with 22mm (7/8") attachment pins and line. Use with Boom height (BH) up to 3' 10" (1170mm). NG2 Isovang – Medium Length: NGV2-M:* The standard Medium Length NG2 Isovang measures 6' 1" long (minimum-fully compressed) and 6' 9" long uncompressed. Outer Tube is 1495mm (4'10 1/2") long. Complete with 22mm (7/8") attachment pins and line. Use with Boom height (BH) up to 4' 6" (1370mm). NG2 Isovang – Long: NGV2-L:* The standard Long NG2 Isovang measures 8' 4" long (minimum-fully compressed) and 9' long uncompressed. Outer Tube is 2340mm (7'8") long. Complete with 22mm (7/8") attachment pins and line. Use with Boom height (BH) up to 6' (1830mm). Selecting Isovang Length Measure your BH, that is, the distance from the Bottom of the Boom to the Bottom of the Vang Bracket. If there is not a Vang Bracket already mounted, measure the distance from the Bottom of the Boom to the lowest place on the Mast where the Bottom of the Vang Bracket could be mounted. Generally, the best advantage comes from mounting the Mast Bracket as low as possible on the Mast, but make sure that the Vang will not interfere with any Deck Hardware. Make sure also (based on Vang length) that the Boom Bracket location is clear. It is sometimes necessary to adjust Vang length or Mast Bracket height to avoid interfering with Boom-mounted hardware, and sometimes necessary to relocate some Boom-mounted items. See Isomat Boom Sections for the appropriate Vang Attachments for your Boom. It is best to mount the Mast Bracket first, and then fine-tune the location for the Boom Bracket with the Vang in place. The Vang should be at an angle of 45� to 30� to the Boom. The BH values for the Vangs listed here will result in a 45� angle to the Boom, reducing that distance will decrease the angle to the Boom.

NG2 Isovang - Parts The NG2 Isovang is identified by the following Primary Measurements: Inner Tube diameter: 58mm (2 1/4") OD Outer Tube diameter: 70mm (2 3/4") OD Sheave size: 85mm (3 3/8") OD x 22mm (7/8") ID Components in all lengths of the NG2 Isovang are identical, with the exception of the tubes and liner.

NG2 Isovang – Small End Fitting Complete: NGV2-1A: NG2 Isovang End fitting for the smaller, inner (58mm (2 1/4") OD) NG2 Isovang tube. Includes 2 sheaves and 22mm (7/8") Axle Pin for attachment to the Mast or Boom fitting, and features integral cast eye for the bitter end of the rope tackle.
	NG2 Isovang – Small End Casting Only: NGV2-1: As NGV2-1A, above, but the Casting only, without Sheaves or Axle Pin.
NG2 Isovang – Large End Fitting Complete: NGV2-2A: NG2 Isovang End fitting for the larger, outer (70mm (2 3/4") OD) NG2 Isovang tube. Includes 2 sheaves and 22mm (7/8") Axle Pin for attachment to the Mast or Boom fitting, and features integral cast eye for the bitter end of the rope tackle.
	NG2 Isovang – Large End Casting Only: NGV2-2: As NGV2-2A, above, but the Casting only, without Sheaves or Axle Pin.
	NG2 Isovang Sheave: NGV2-3: Acetyl Sheave is 85mm (3 3/8") x 20mm (3/4") wide x 22mm (7/8") ID.
	*NG2 Isovang Axle Pin: NGV2-4:* SS Tubular Axle Pin is 21.3mm (7/8") OD x 73mm (2 3/4") grip length. Hollow Axle/Pin goes through Isovang End Casting and acts as the sheave axle and attachment pin for Mast or Boom Tab with 22mm (7/8") hole.
NG2 Isovang Spring: NGV2-6: Heavy-Duty steel Spring for NG2 Isovang is 2" OD x 29" long (uncompressed).
*NG2 Isovang - Inner Alu. Tube: NGV2-7-__:* Anodized aluminum Inner (small) tube for NG2 Isovang is 58mm (2 1/4") OD. Specify length up to 2380mm (7' 9 3/4").
*NG2 Isovang - Outer Tube Liner: NGV2-8-__:* Plastic Tube Liner for NG2 Isovang goes between the inner and outer tubes to prevent any contact or abrasion between them. Specify length.
NG2 Isovang - Outer Alu. Tube: NGV2-9-__: Anodized aluminum Outer (large) tube for NG2 Isovang is 70mm (2 3/4") OD. Specify length up to 2340mm (7' 8").
